SYNOPSIS |
|
'Rascal' is a comedy about the joys of conning, and you feel a secret release in the flagrant amorality and greed of it's main characters Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Kangana.
Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn Play tow competing commen trying ot out scheme each other in consistently amusing and surprising setups. Both of them pick up their targets randomly but once they set their eyes on it no one can escape from their clutches. After duping some innocent people in Mumbai one fine day they decide o shift base to foreign shores. Co - incidentally both of them dupe one big loan - shark on the same day not together but sepatately. When Sanjay and Ajay come face to face for the first time and Sanjay discovers that Ajay is planning to locate in his own home territory, he decides to do anything possible to keep Ajay away. Sanjay's theory is that bad crooks pollute the water for sophisticated con men like him.
One day Sanjay meets beautiful Kangana and sets his eyes on her. Kangana gets carried away with his smooth talks and is willing to go any extent. But then Ajay makes an the scene and now Sanjay and Ajay both them share the same passion Kangana, who is a wealthy young woman simply out of their league, and both men love to take challenges. Their corrruption has a glorious purity. They're rats, clean through. When Sanjay feels reminds him that Sanjay is no different than best and worst in the two and when their con games reach it's peak, the movie's energy seems to go higher and higher with many more bizarre situations thrown in
The plot is mostly an excuse for a series of bizarre set - pieces in which one con man tries to corner the other in an outrageous trap. The Plot develops into a series of cons withn cons, as the two confident men supass themselves in their attempts to outsmart the surprisingly elusive Kangana.It makes the film an interesting watch as one can't guess who will get the end.
Most importanatly since much of the comedy involves people taking advantage of one another, having everything put forward in such a gossamer manner that it becomes an enjoyable journey throughout with an interesting twist at the end. |
